Eurocamp Review: Pra Delle Torri
Welcome back to my Eurocamp review series!
If you’ve read my other Eurocamp blogs, you’ll know that it’s probably our favourite way to holiday! If you want to know more about other sites, you can read about our time in France at Esterel, La Baume, and Saint Aygulf, as well as my Ultimate Guide to a Eurocamp holiday blog, which has got everything you’ll need to know about booking a Eurocamp holiday.
We’re stepping out of France and into Italy with this blog, so sit tight as I tell you everything you need to know about Pra Delle Torri, a large site about an hour from Venice. We travelled in September 2023 and paid £600 for Eucrocamp, flights and car hire.
Why we loved this site
This site was HUGE! There was so much going on for the kids (and adults too!) and the location and pool complex was incredible. Here are the main reasons we loved this camp:
There are so many pools! In total there are 4 pools, slides and a pirate-themed lagoon
It was about an hour from Venice so we were able to take a day trip there
There’s direct access to the private beach from the camp - you can try your hand at water sports if that’s your thing
Getting there
We flew into Marco Polo airport from Bristol and hired a car which we booked at the airport. It was under an hour’s drive from the airport to the resort. You can read more here about why I love having a car on holiday but if you’re a nervous driver or simply don’t want to drive whilst you’re on holiday, you could arrange a private transfer from the airport to the Eurocamp. If this is your first time driving abroad, Italians are a little wild at driving! I would recommend opting for an automatic car, so you have one less thing to worry about and just take your time!
Accommodation
The accommodation we stayed in was really modern and clean. It was called the Azure and it had air-con, kitchen and two bedrooms.
We requested two bed rails for the kids beds and these were provided free of charge.
Things we liked - nice spacious accommodation with comfy outdoor area with a cosy sofa area.
Things to be aware of - mosquitoes! You’re going to want to pack some repellent as they’re known to be a pest in this area.
Food and drink
There were plenty of places to eat on site including four restaurants and even one on the beach which was lovely. It wasn’t cheap to eat out but as we had the kitchen, we mixed it up a bit to balance between eating out and cooking ourselves (and save money!)
There’s a full supermarket on site too so if you didn’t want to leave the site, you wouldn’t need to!
Things we liked - the pizza is a must here, when in Italy! The supermarket was massive here too and we didn’t leave site to use any others as this one was very well stocked and reasonably priced.
Things to be aware of - we visited the last week of the season, so there was limited stock available in the supermarket (we still got everything we needed!)
Pools
The pool complex was spectacular and definitely up there with one of the best we've seen.
There’s two adult pools and two family pools, so everybody is catered for. There are waterslides to enjoy for both adults/teenahgers and children including a six lane toboggan slide, and a waterchute.
There’s also Pirate Island, a fantastic pirate-themed water park area for toddlers and young children, our two loved splashing about in there.
If you want a break from all the excitement, there’s also a whirlpool and Jacuzzi where you can really wind down.
We did find there were a lot of mosquitos around when we visited in September - so take repellent with you!
Things we liked - the huge pools were great for swimming lengths and my husband particularly enjoyed the big slides.
Things to be aware of - because we visited outside of the high season, half of the pool complex was closed; although there was still plenty of space. There were height restrictions on the bigger slides (my four-year-old was most disappointed he couldn’t enjoy the slides with his Dad!)
Entertainment, kids clubs and activities
There was so much to do for everyone! From Kids Clubs for the little ones, to a golf course for the adults there really is something for everyone.
There is also lots of evening entertainment on site including shows and a huge inflatable park that opens at night which has bouncy castles, inflatable slides etc. This was extra cost but well-worth it for what you got.
There were also plenty of watersports to do on the beach too like windsurfing, pedalos and canoeing.
Things we liked - you literally wouldn’t need to leave the site - everything you need is here and it’s perfect for families not wanting to hire a car. The on-site inflatable park was amazing for the kids in the evening and it provided hours of fun.
Things to be aware of - they have a siesta here between 13.00-15.00 (doesn’t apply to high season)
Other facilities
There is some thing here for all ages! We did crazy golf one afternoon as a family and I had a thai massage which was amazing and I would definitely recommend (although I can’t remember how much it was now!).
The train ride around the site in the evening was sweet but this costs extra.
Local area and things to do
We were only an hour from Venice so we packed up the car and headed there for the day.
Although we enjoyed Venice and it was nice to tick this off our places we’ve visited, we were underwhelmed (sorry to the Venice fans!). There are lots of steps, so having the prams with us was our first mistake but equally it is soooo busy there that I was worried we would lose the children if they weren’t safely strapped into a pram. It was so busy it almost took the beauty out of it! There wasn’t really much for our three and four-years-olds to enjoy there and everything is very expensive and we were a bit underwhelmed by the quality of the food.
We also hopped in the car to visit other nearby local towns and beaches (hence why I always recommend having a car!). The nearby towns of Caorle and Jesolo are only 20-30 mins away. Caorle, is a lively fishing town with lots of restaurants and bars and Lido di Jesolo is a tourist haven with a gorgeous beach, lots of places to eat.
Would I go back?
Yes definitely! This site felt very similar to that of an all-inclusive resort - it had all the facilities you’d expect but it was worlds away from the prices you’d pay for that and we love the flexibility which self catering offers.
